Recently we received a request from a client who uses glass bottles with a bottleneck inner diameter of 12.3 mm.
Standard DIN18 dropper wipers were not suitable for this bottle design, so we developed a custom solution to ensure proper compatibility between the bottle, the wiper, and the dropper pipette.
Optimized Wiper Dimensions
To achieve a perfect fit, the wiper was designed with the following specifications:

Bottle inner neck diameter: 12.3 mm

Wiper height: 15.6 mm

Compatible pipette diameter: 7 mm glass pipette
These dimensions ensure smooth insertion of the wiper into the bottle while maintaining proper functionality of the dropper system.
Smooth Pipette Movement and Accurate Dosing
The internal opening of the wiper is optimized for 7 mm glass pipettes, allowing the pipette to pass smoothly through the wiper.
The wiper performs two important functions:

removes excess liquid from the pipette

helps ensure clean and controlled dosing

Testing and Performance
The wiper was tested directly with the client’s bottles and showed excellent compatibility.
During the test, the pipette moves smoothly through the wiper while excess liquid is removed from the glass surface, preventing dripping and improving dosing accuracy.

Not all bottles follow the DIN18 standard, which is why custom components are sometimes necessary.
